The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is on Thursday, December 6th from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Temecula Duck Pond.

Santa’s Electric Light Parade is on Friday, December 7th at 7:00 PM on Front Street in Old Town Temecula.

Holiday Lights and Festive Sights Bus Tours will be done between December 8th and December 19th. Buses depart and return to the Civic Center. Please go to  www.cityoftemecula.org for the dates and times of the tours and to register as space is limited.

New Year’s Grape Drop is on Monday, December 31st from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM at the Civic Center.

Each year Redhawk residents do a wonderful job decorating their homes for the holidays.  This year the Board would like to honor three exceptional homes. 

The winner will receive a $100.00 gift certificate to a local restaurant and two runner ups will receive $50.00 gift certificates.   Please email your nominations for the holiday decorating contest to: redhawk@avalonweb.com and read the January newsletter to see who the winners were.     

Homeowners may also enter their homes and neighborhoods in the City of Temecula Holiday Decorating Contest.  Entry forms will be available at City Hall and at www.cityoftemecula.org beginning in November. If you have any questions please call the Community Services Department at 951-694-6480.

· Please ensure trash cans are put out no earlier than the evening before pick up and put away by the evening of the pick up day.

· Most homeowners with corner lots maintain their side yard. Please do not litter or allow your pets to go into these areas. They are also not playgrounds or bike ramps. Please help your neighbor(s) by staying out of these areas.

The gated communities of Auberry Place and Fairway are having community wide garage sales on Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. In addition, the gated community of Vintage is having a community wide garage sale on Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Pumpkin Plunge—Saturday, October 13th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM (Special Needs 
10:00 AM to 12:00 PM) at the CRC pool. The activities include diving into the pool to pick out a pumpkin and pumpkin games, crafts and painting. Pre-registration is required for this event.
Family Carnival—Friday, October 26th from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Ronald Reagan Sports Park Hockey Arena. The cost is $5 per person and the activities include a costume contest, carnival games, face painting, screaming contest and food vendors (separate cost for food).
