Memorial Day Ceremony May 26, 2014, 8:00AM, Civic Center Let’s remember our heroes with a procession along Main Street featuring scouts, military personnel and patriotic music followed by a small ceremony on the steps of the Civic Center. The gated community of Vintage has an upcoming community wide garage sale. Vintage: Saturday, May 17, 2014 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. · Water brown spots in your lawn with a hose instead of increasing the irrigation time on your timer. · Place children’s water toys on any dry spots in your lawn. · Take the pets outside to be bathed—pick a dry spot in the lawn to wash them. · Remember that not all brown spots in your lawn are caused from lack of water. If you have distinct irregularly shaped brown spots, the symptoms are most severe in late summer, and section of dead turf can be pulled up easily, the problem is probably grubs, a beetle larva. They feed on your turf’s root system and kill it. If you question what is causing your turf problem, contact your CAU Extension County Office or a local nursery professional. In an effort to reduce the costs of irrigating, your board has approved the removal of 5040 square feet of turf on Lydia Court in the Summerhill area. The project will convert the current irrigation system to drip, which is far more efficient and reduce our overall water usage. The area will be replanted with trees, shrubs and be more attractive. The proposal was initiated by Adams Landscaping and includes a contractor direct rebate from the Metropolitan Water district. The total out of pocket costs to Redhawk is approximately $519.00. |
